Divisibility Rules

Divisible By | Description |
---|---|

2 | if the last digit of Number is even (2, 4, 6, 8 or 0) |

3 | if the sum of digits of Number is divisible by 3 |

4 | if the last 2 digits of Number is divisible by 4 |

5 | if the last digit of Number is either 0 or 5 |

6 | if the number is divisible by both 2 and 3 |

7 | subtract twice the last digit of Number from the remaining digits. If the result is result is divisible by of 7 , the number is divisible by 7 (Example 1022 is divisible by 7 because 102 - 2 x 2 = 98, which is divisible by 7) |

8 | if the last 3 digits of Number is divisible by 8 |

9 | if the sum of digits of Number is divisible by 9 |

10 | if the last digit of Number zero (0) |

11 | if the difference of the alternating sum of digits of the number is a multiple of 11 (e.g. 1331 is divisible by 11 because 1 - 3 + 3 - 1 = 0, which is a multiple of 11) |

12 | if the number is divisible by both 3 and 4 |
